Hong Kong and Macau Index to Chinese Periodicals primarily includes Chinese and bilingual journals published in Hong Kong and Macau, with a focus on humanities and social sciences. Most of the journals are indexed from 1980 onwards. The earliest periodical featured in the Index is Chinese Serial (published on 1 August 1853) which is the first Chinese journal in Hong Kong. In addition to various basic search functions, the Index also provides links to full-text images of certain articles for teaching and academic research purposes.
