Interlibrary Loan

The Interlibrary Loan Service enables UTM students, faculty and staff to borrow from other libraries if items are not available at UTM Library. Currently, the Macau Academic Library Alliance Card (MALA card) and the Reader’s card are available for eligible users. Interlibrary applications may also be submitted with institute user accounts via MALA HUB.


Eligibility

All UTM staff and students are eligible to borrow the MALA card and Reader’s card or submit their interlibrary loans via MALA HUB


How to Apply

  • Present your UTM Smart Card to the circulation counter of Mong-Há Campus Library or Taipa Campus Library to apply for the MALA card or Reader’s card.

  • Submit interlibrary loan applications with institute user accounts via MALA HUB

  • The MALA card and Reader’s card must be returned to the UTM Library within 30 days.

Remarks:

  • B=General books, AV = Audio Visual Materials

  • Users can keep the MALA cards  for a maximum of 30 days.

  • MALA cards are checked out on first come first serve basis.

  • On-loan items should be cleared before returning the MALA card to UTM Library.

  • Users are responsible for all loans checked out with their MALA cards. Loss of MALA card must be reported to the UTM Library Circulation Counter immediately.

  • Users are bound by library regulations of cooperated library and will be required to pay fines for overdue books at the rate set by the Library.

Remarks:

  • The card is non-transferable

  • Each card can only be used by one user per visit.

  • There is no borrowing privilege of the card. All library resources have to be used in the Library.

  • For any missing and damage of the Reader’s Card, users are responsible for the replacement cost of the card.

  • User should follow the policies and regulations in Shue Yan Library and are reminded that they will be held fully responsible for their behaviors in Shue Yan Library.
