Suggestions for purchase

Faculties are welcome to suggest books, databases and resources that are important for the teaching and learning at UTM. For any suggestions of monographs, please use the book recommendation system. Kindly take note that recommended titles should be listed in the course outline when you submit your recommendations. For databases recommendations, you may contact library for information.

For administrative staff, please obtain endorsement from your immediate head and contact the library.

Placing the order:

Check that the suggested item is not already in stock. Please check the online catalogue prior submitting your request for purchase.

As soon as the order is placed, the status will be updated in the book recommendation for your review.

How long will it take to arrive?

Library cannot predict how long it will take an item to arrive in the library. However, library staff will contact vendors on a regular basis to claim any material not received within these timeframes.

Processing and binding

All items require processing for the shelf – cataloguing, adding spine labels, RFID tags etc.  This may take a couple of days, under our library performance pledge, we can speed up processing time for a newly arrived items upon request. If the book is under “processing” in the Library Recommendation System (Note: this service is not available from off-campus) and you need it in urgent, you may request to speed up our cataloging process by sending an email to the Library. Urgent items are usually processed within a day, the item will be available to collect as soon as it is labelled. We will send you an email when it is ready.
